Why do some Turkish Angora cats have odd eyes?

The tendency of having odd eyes is more in Turkish Angora cats than any other cat breed. They mostly have one blue and one amber colored eye.The answer to this question that why they have odd eyes is hidden in the Melanin. That is a pigment that is responsible for eye, skin and hair color in all animals. The process Mitosis by which the genes from their parents that has different eye colors most probably blue, green or golden join together and their product has two eyes of different colors. At the time of birth every single kitten has light blue eyes and the color changes as they grow up so it is also possible that because of the difference in amount of Pigment one eye color appears different than the other.

  1. I just want to inform that this is Van Cat and it is not turkish, but Armenian, as Van is an old Armenian city and it used to be first Armenian capital city 2846 years ago. After the Armenian Genocide on 1915 the city Van, and not only Van, but several dozen cities became turkish cities, and the unique Van Cats also remained in Van...!! That is the origin of Van Cat!

  3. Sure Astghik, and 5000 years ago Van was Urartu's domain. :))) And there was no genocide do some research. With Russian's provocation, Armenian citizens, who had been known a loyal and elite Ottoman subjects revolted against Ottoman Empire and started mass-murdering Turkish citizens and plundered Turkish villiges, and Ottoman forces put down the revolt. What's more I have Armenian friends here in Turkey and I'm pretty sure they would feel sorry for you and for the people who share your opinions. If you want to blame some nation start with Russians, who caused the war and used you as pawns, not Turkish people and Ottoman Empire.

Anyways this seems like a Van Cat, not Angora. Angora's ears are much more pointy and closer to each other than Van Cats. Anyways they are both very beautiful and intelligent Anatolian breeds and although I have an angora, I'd be very happy if I had a Van.

Also for the last 1000 years all the area has been Turkish land starting with Seldjuk Dynasty.
